This novel is a story that spans ages, and follows humanity as it emerges from the Dark Ages, discovers science and works wonders by it, only to fall time and time again to it's worst impulses. The question is, will we ever overcome them? We invent machines that are used for war. America defeats the Soviet Union and brought democracy, only to lose it's way as a nation. In the face of civilization threatening environmental crisis, people all over the world mobilize to save it. Then we are all oppressed by the world we create. Over centuries the spirit of man rises in rebellion only to be crushed. Earth and her colonies struggle. Then there is one final battle for humanity's soul. Against the system made to govern the world, a people of virtue will lead. They are not told in the order they happen, but then... time as we know it is an illusion. The quicker you go, the slower it moves relative to the world around you. The slower it moves, the faster you seem. To the divine... past, present, and future can be seen all at once. There is a question this book asks that will be stated clearly at the end of the book. I sincerely promise there is nothing supernatural in it.
