A 4 1/2 STAR REVIEW

Movers and shakers rule a motion picture set in Louise Bagshawe's THE MOVIE (called Triple Feature in the U.S.A.), a fun and dishy tale of beautiful people gone bad. From the angelic ingenue to the diva extraordinaire, Bagshawe takes you on a wild ride of sins, money and passion. Yes, we've all seen it before, but Bagshawe's effective plot and colorful characters give THE MOVIE the edge it needs to stay above ground. Her Hollywood setting may clone the one of Jackie Collins, but the end-result is as wickedly readable. If her next outing is that much fun and exciting, Bagshawe will be more than welcome to move into the pop lit-dome.-----Martin Boucher

Excellent read

This book is probably the best I have ever read. It was extremely emjoyable and kept me wanting more all the time. It was hard to put it down to go to sleep, kept me up hours. Great characters and a great story line Louise Bagshawe is a genius. This was my first book from her and I definitely am going to get my hands on her other books. If they are half as good as this one was then that would do me fine.

What a fun read!

I simply adore good reads with a little romance and intrigue - where the good guys win, bad guys lose and screwed up folks get sorted out. This book does all that and wraps up nicely. Megan Silver is an unknown writer who has a flash of inspiration and writes a great screenplay. Now she just has to get it published. She moves from San Francisco to Los Angeles (though the book does this rather strangely - all of a sudden she is working at a chicken joint in LA and you have to page back to make sure of which character she is) to try to get her screenplay sold. Roxana Felix is a spoiled, self-absorbed supermodel turned wannabe actress. Eleanor Marshall is the new president of a failing movie studio. All of these women have something to prove and they all come together in a very fun, fast-paced read.

Couldnt put it down

I loved this book! It was so addictive. I enjoyed nothing better than to sit down with it and completely escape from my normal way of life and get totally engrossed with it. If u enjoy this type of book, .... then i seriously suggest u buy this, Louise Bagshame is a great writer with perfect timing and i just wanted to get to the end of the book so i found out what happened to everyone, and i wasn't dissapointed!

Titillating Page Turner

Great romp! I read the original British version, "The Movie". Bagshawe has the requisite skill for this type of escapist fiction - sexy, witty (at times), tongue-in-cheek, femme fatale fantasies come to life. No aspirations for great literature although the writing is very good. Her first novel, Career Girls, is more thrilling. Reading her books makes you feel like a very clever, attractive, sophisticated babe who can conquer the world. You can't help but root for her heroines - brainy babes with laser-like focus. Also read her third novel, Tall Poppies, whose story lags a bit compared to the previous two. Saw her fourth novel on the shelves of my neighborhood library today: Venus Envy.
