Mound builders story

This is a well-organized and research scholar work for the ancient mound builders. This book highlights the mounds in different states on the nature of different cultural tribes with relics from different sites for more research. Each mound site is unique in structure, motifs and significance. The easy accessible Cahokia Mound is the best in terms of the museum presentation and the Monk Mound. It is designated as UN world heritage site. On the cover is the Serpent Mound which is significant in terms of astronomy. Native Americans with different cultural tradition were looked upon by European colonists as savages who enjoy more and well-developed advancement as Cahokia was the largest metro north of Mexico. The chapter on Trails of Tears was a dark chapter in extermination of the original settlers who live in reservation as second class citizens. Who committed genocide? The last part rounds up the different sites guide in different states and even Canada. Reading this book will motivate to visit for the real experience!

As a teacher of middle school I found this book to be a great reference in class.
