Thistledown, Virginia, an offshoot of one of DC's many suburbs is now a sprawling city with high-rise buildings. Like many of its young and aspiring dreamers, Nivi is a resident who quit her lucrative IT job to run her own caf close to downtown. Being an entrepreneur, however, isn't her only talent. Many know her as an activist and philanthropist, who tends to adopt others' problems as her own and makes it her mission to solve them. Others, meanwhile, see her as a nosy, annoying individual lacking social acumen, who should know better than to violate personal boundaries. Yet, Nivi strives forward, forging friendships and sailing smoothly, until one day, when she comes across a young seventeen-year-old Molly, who is seeking the courage to come out. Moved by her predicament, Nivi vows to help but quickly learns that things aren't as simple as they seem. She is forced to make an enemy out of a reputable and wealthy businessman in the process. How far does her helping hand reach? Does she choose to protect the girl she just met, even when her business is on the line?
