Dear Reader, be glad you are not from the cursed land that I call home. There is a great sickness here in Septentry, a rot. Born of the machinations for the desire to be free, but also calculated suspicion of others, mine is a country on the brink of the most bizarre collapse. But how did we get here, how did I find myself documenting the surreal slide where we are unto now? Perhaps I should start by holding myself accountable. Dear reader, what you are considering reading will surely become illegal, if it is not already. I have gone completely rogue in the years since I was forcefully retired from the Covert Operations Bureau. But this story is not about me, or my conditions or my pursuits. It is about the people: perpetrators, the entangled, the destructors and the destroyed. This is the preamble to the great and terrible circumstances we find ourselves under presently. To the people that I write about here, I am truly sorry. From the greasy brat, to the denial stricken mother/spy, for the lonesome girl dreaming of escape, her dearest sister, and their whole family of "secondary" citizens. To the bastard who built me, and the gnawing dread for all my misdeeds in his service, I am sorry. I of course say this with love. Just as I love my country despite it's lowly depravities and senseless ways. This is why I dare to have written this at all, dear reader... To bring unshaking, blistering truth to the world and right the atrocities past and ongoing, some of which I had even participated in. There are many falsehoods to be undone here, and plenty of questions needing to be answered. Perhaps you too, will find some answers herein. Until then, as we all collectively watch the continuing revolution sweeping The Confederated States of Septentrionus, Please Maintain Composure.
