Excellent sequel

Following Mr. Wiebener's first novel, The Margin, I was hoping his future endeavors would include Sheriff Crystal Stanton, and I haven't been disappointed. This novel includes an interesting, believable cast of characters, including the intriguing Sheriff. This story unfolds just as quickly paced as The Margin, and opens up a whole new world, largely covert, which tracks surreptious events that very likely occur unnoticed in today's world. Mr. Wiebener's story-telling ability quickly draws the reader into the world of human intelligence and provides a thought-provoking tome which we would be wise to consider. Congratulations to the author. I am looking forward to see where he leads us next.

Just gettin' better and better....

Wiebener's first book was GREAT! A fantastic story with regular folks as characters that were extraordinary in their roles. Having been born and raised in western Oklahoma, it was easy to relate to both the characters as well as the countryside. It was a tale of the good guys over the bad guys. Sort of made this old Okie feel proud! Now comes The Moriah Ruse. Some of those same characters from The Margin jump at the opportunity to serve their country. This story and the way Marvin brings out the best in those "regular folks" from Oklahoma and eslewhere will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Before this one is finished, you'll have some goose bumps and your pride in being an American might just get kicked up a notch or two. I simply cannot say enough good things about The Moriah Ruse!! What's next Marvin? And when do we get to see it? Great work!!!

The Moriah Ruse

In his second book, Marvin Wiebener again demonstrates his ability to spin an exciting tale equivalent to that of the most popular writers of the day. Demonstrating a strong understanding of three cultures, rural Oklahoma, political Washington D.C and repressive, misogynistic Iran, a story of heartfelt patriotism, self-serving deceit and intrigue is told. Exciting and fast-paced, Mr. Wiebener's ability to write dialogue in a believable manner creates characters of depth and detail. If you have not read his first, The Margin, reading The Moriah Ruse will make you want get your hands on it next!

The Margin, December 2, 2009

Wiebener has done it again. He shows that he is equally at home in the plains of Oklahoma or the rough unforgiving terrain of Iran. He puts it all together with believable characters and plot that could mimic the daily news. Twists and turns abound keeping the reader involved and making it difficult to put the book down without thinking of when It can be picked it up again. If you like mystery that echos realism and gutsy no-nonsense heroes and heroines you will love The Moriah Ruse. I am looking forward to what comes next from this new exciting writer.

The Moriah Ruse December 2, 2009

Wiebener's first effort, The Margin, was outstanding and left me eagerly waiting for his next book. I was not disappointed by The Moriah Ruse. He has taken some of the characters from The Margin and taken them on an exciting journey through espionage in the Middle East and thrown in the intrigue of Washington politics and power brokering. He has included all the twists and turns of The Margin with a slam dunk ending. Events in the book could have come right out of today's headlines. I have read Leonard, Parker, Hillerman and Jance and Wiebener can hold his own with any of them. The Moriah Ruse is definitely one of those books you just can't put down.
