Debate of Morality of Capitalism

The society of human beings has experienced several phrases, including Barbarian, feudalism, communism, and capitalism. When the train of human's history keeps going forward, many people, such as economists, socialists, and politics, think about what is the most moral economic system. The debate about this topic has continued for centuries. Some people give the highest praise to capitalism, saying human's well-being depends on the noble spirit and good works of the capitalist class. While others suspect the reputation of capitalism because of the black propaganda from pinko unions, red-raggers, and bleeding-heart liberals from the earliest days of the Industrial Revolution two hundreds years ago. Based on all these theories, opinions, and debates, this book collects 16 articles with different focus and opinions about capitalism. The authors don't try to force the readers to accept their advocations or critics, but offers definition of capitalism and its impact to economy and society. Also, the authors are free of utopian delusions. They are aware that capitalism cannot and should not be a panacea; that, by itself, it is no guarantor of freedom or virtue or "the good society." However, capitalistic society is the best environment for technological project, and in turn, for the better life of human being. The authors show us, from different angles, that capitalism is morally as well as economically superior to every known alternative, such as socialism or the welfare state. These sixteen articles provide entire explanation and analysis of capitalism, including its origin, dynamics, and its relationship with culture, economy, society, and morality. The authors compare the capitalism with communism, another dominant political system to grow the conclusion that the capitalism is the system that can provide individual the most freedom and help to improve the morality of both the society and economy.
