This book is a collection of stories, novellas and anecdotes by Iv n Kov cs that was written over a period of several decades. Some of them have been previously published in literary journals and magazines in South Africa, others are now published for the first time. They cover a wide area extending from memories of childhood in a troubled and terror-ruled Hungary in the 1950's to fictional stories of a gothic character in which ghosts and shape-shifters capture the reader's imagination. There are also anecdotes of a humorous nature that hark back to the author's schooldays in South Africa and what it means to be an altar boy in the service of a Hungarian South African congregation. "The Room at the Back of the Caf Toulouse" and "The Moonlight Sonata" are two novellas in this book that feature the 'psychic investigator' Juan P rez, who faces the unknown and mysterious with his special kind of skills that are unique and foreign to regular private investigators.
