Second edition. Occult Philosophy. Aleister Crowley and the Egyptian God of Magicks, Thoth. Imagine if there were a Book, a Magickal Book, writ by a Magus; a puissant talisman of wende and wonder. The Book would be as a window or portal onto and into universes other and strange; uncommon realities. It might be a key to a particular Magickal door. Perhaps it contains Magickal maps, with directions for the aspiring Magician, and the True Initiate, to find the paths of Wyrd & Doom. Ah, it would be like as ne'er seen afore Mysterious, mystical, beautiful, fascinating and powerful. A tome of weighty portend, wrought by the veritable Scribe of the Gods. What marvellous chapters we should expect Why, each page would be a potent spell to shape universes For every Word, when the will is sanctified and true, is a whirling star of God-force. If the author were indeed a true Magus, called and anointed by the Divine, were who and what he claimed to be, in all truth, then could he write such a Book. Words are his Art. An if he so willed, then he could make every part of it pulse with cataclysmic Magicks, to quicken reality by an thousand years. It would be a Book of Things. A tome of destinies. In it, each man would find his own Reckoning. The false minds would encounter only jarring confusion, like sqiggledy nonsenses; because the Magickal Book is a mirror. For the shining hearted it is as a well of pure, clear waters. The pilgrims shalt therein come to lie in the bosom of the Goddess. The way shalt be strewn with celestial blooms, and scented with heavenly musks. To open its leaves would be to step o'er an Elsewyr threshold. If the aspirant can approach with a genuine will to embrace the All, and with a heart free of wickedness, then each step along the path wilt draw him towards the centre, and an encounter with God. A holy tome of celestial treasures And, if such a Book existed, this would be its introduction.
