When a rain of alien invaders crashes to Earth and lays siege to the planet, destroying everything in their path, humans find themselves powerless against the onslaught. The creatures roll across the country from every direction, converging on the heartland unimpeded except by a small group of teenagers in the forests of Idaho. Kit and her friends soon find themselves struggling against all sides as they not only face resistance from all sides but strive to unite their disparate peoples as well.
