The Monster Under John's Bed

By Jeremy Kelly

There really is a monster under John's bed. Thank goodness.

Socks keep disappearing from John's room. Nightmares are spreading across the neighborhood. And Jack, who's starting to feel too old for monster stuff, keeps hearing something purr under his little brother's bed.

That something is Grumblegrub, a furry, many-eyed monster who has guarded the kids who sleep in that bed for years, including Jack. Now Grumblegrub is fading, a shapeless darkness is rising through the floor, and Jack has to crawl into the Underbed and face the scariest thing of all: saying what he's afraid of out loud.

Kelly Brothers Rule #1: Never leave your brother behind.

The Kelly Brothers Mysteries are spooky, funny, fast-moving monster mysteries for readers 8-12, told by eleven-year-old Jack Kelly, who investigates with a notebook, a four-year-old brother, and a goldendoodle puppy named Julk. Every case is real. Every monster is real. And every book ends with the brothers still together.
