A Momoke thief is captured by a prince of Vaka Puaikura, Ati, for stealing from the community taro crop. She became Ati's prisoner but in that time, the Momoke started to develop feelings for her captor. Ati, betrothed to Raiti, a princess from Vaka Takitumu, is then caught up in a love curdle but the issue develops further both emotionally and politically, not only for those directly involved but for everyone else as well. The Momoke is good not only at stealing taro crops, but also Ati's heart. This is a fictionalised version of the Rarotongan legend of Ati and the Momoke, that will take you on a journey of Cook Island Maori tradition, custom, romance and dedication. At the end, you are left with an inquisitive mind, wanting to know more not only about the legends of the Pacific, but about any indigenous culture.
