The Moment Light (Luz) Begins is, in a word, Birth. Or, to give birth, dar la luz in Spanish. The story of the stolen babies is continued. First, the legal problem must be overcome, particularly when it is found that the main DNA company is owned by someone from Opus Dei and they are falsifying the analyses, making resolution impossible. Capitana Carmen of the Guardia gets to work, sorts the legal issue, but will her friend Carmen find her daughter? Opus Dei again is at the heart of this painful and greedy crime which expanded over five decades to include something like 300,000 or more babies sold all across Spain. And were all of those babies loved?

We also follow the back story of a child who was illegally adopted, and who eventually discovers she was adopted and seeks her mother - when she can, as life isn't easy given 'el crisis'.

Bellado a, owner of Club Noche Buena, a brothel, is being threatened unless she pays 25% of the takings each week. Pepe is inadvertently present and taken hostage when the enforcers come to collect. The security man shoots one of them, so Pepe is grabbed as cover. Eventually he is tasered, taped and left with the dead body of the would-be enforcer. The Guardia generally don't seem too worried about him, but Alma has got her sleeves rolled up and her brain cells clicking, and finds him in a garage. Pepe is in love again, but hubby H ctor is behind him sawing off his bonds.

Plenty of work for investigators, but the focus is on mothers when Capitana Carmen calls the mother of a young Agente who is in serious trouble. The trouble only deepens when Mam turns up. Laughs for the others, but also a lesson for all the new intake.

I'm sure mom would say there's a
lesson here somewhere.

The Aetherium is busy. Messages are received from the Wise Ones, and hopefully lessons learned. They will take the most diverse group they can to the Astral Plane to rescue Souls which are being held there. Bellado a, she of the brothel, is kidnapped by the man behind the extortion when it fails so dramatically. Everyone gets involved in looking for her. They were right in thinking she was a clever woman who could look after herself. She, we learn, was also born of woman.

Someone who joins his own mother unexpectedly is el Sapo, the head of Granada Guardia Civil and a hero of Spanish policing, when he pops his boots. Had to happen. It might be true to say, everyone enjoyed the funeral, but it isn't. The secretary shed a tear.

Also Juan in his parallel life is forcefully invited to impregnate two women. You'll never guess who comes to his rescue.
