The thing I love most about this movie is, obviously, the animation style. I can clearly tell some of the people who worked on the Spider-verse films worked on this one, in a great way, of course. From the opening bursting with colors, the film shows the viewer that it is what it is and that it isn't for everyone. I see Katie learning that lesson. She is herself, and she shouldn't let others dilute her creativity or personality.
The father-daughter dynamic was one I enjoyed, but I didn't think it was THE BEST I had ever seen, but it was fun. I think it shows that both children AND parents should work to connect with their family's interests, even if you don't fully get it. Rick clearly has no idea what an amazing film producer Katie is, and he learns that even though he has no idea how the internet works, he can still support his daughter's interests.
I loved how Aaron geeks over dinosaurs, then meets his nerdy neighbor who is also into dinosaurs. The casual question if Katie's maybe girlfriend was coming home to visit her family was a great way to represent that, especially if some viewers missed her pride pin. It's a wonderful thing to normalize.
It's safe to say that I love this movie and all of the themes it represents <3
