Hoping to evade their pursuers they seek sanctuary in a remote castle with only an old man as the single occupant. Finding themselves in a world not of their own they are befriended by a father and daughter who take them into their own home. While adapting to their new way of life they witness an attempt to assassinate a national figure and in their effort to prevent it happening come face to face with their original Roundhead pursuers with unexpected consequences. One of the pair finds himself returned to his own time where he finds his family has suffered death and abuse at the hands of some Roundhead soldiers. Full of self-reproach and smouldering with a deep anger he sets out on a mission of vengeance to make the perpetrator suffer for their actions.
