An exciting novel

Lizzie is trying to catch the bad guy (Again), with no help from anyone. She finds out that it is okay to trust someone besides herself and ultimately finds that help is benficial. I think the author did a good job with character development and with setting up the story. It was exciting to read. There is no mystery here, you know who the bad guy is all along, but how to catch him is what this book is about.

A Really Good Story

It only took me one day to read this novel. I really enjoyed the plot and characters and was incensed when my time was disrupted by my job.

Fairies & Lords OH MY

Carla Neggars does it again. This book draws you in right at the beginning and keeps you involved. Lizzie just seems to invite trouble and the handsome man is always there to help. Great read!

Exciting, suspenseful, gripping!

Lizzie Rush is on a quiet trip to Ireland, the Beara Peninsula specifically, to try to meet up with Simon Cahill, an FBI agent she knows. Lizzie had been working for Norman Estabrook, a billionnaire, to help the FBI collect evidence on his money laundering and support of drug traffickers. But now she has heard Estabrook make death threats to kill Simon and his boos, FBI director, John March. However, as Lizzie takes a break at a small Irish pub, in walks Will Davenport "Lord Will" who is rumored to work for M16, British Intelligence Service. As Lizzie tries to avoid Will's notice, she receives a text message from her cousin who works at the Rush hotel chain in Boston that Simon Cahill and his boss are in Boston but not Simon's friend and lover, Keira Sullivan. Lizzie had come to Ireland to convince Simon to do all he could to keep Estabrook in custody and that he had meant every word of his threat again Simon and his boss. As Lizzie walks to see Keira so does Will Davenport first arrive and sees she is not in the cottage. He receives a message and calls his assistant in London, Josie to find out that Estabrook has obtained his release several hours before. Lizzie heads to a stone circle following a small dog she's seen. Keira arrives in the circle and Lizzie tells her she is a friend of Simon and just then a man comes charging at Keira carrying an assault knife so Lizzie tells her to run. Lizzie's father who is/was an intelligence agent has taught her all he knows about fighting and intelligence work so she soon has the upper hand. Keira helps her disarm him and Lizzie threatens him until they find out that a bomb has been set on the FBI director's daughter's back porch. As Lizzie calls there to warn them, the bomb goes off. This is just the first 50 pages as the story gets more exciting with twists and turns and as Lizzie has to decide who she can trust and who she can't. Great read.

The Mist Rewards with a great Read!!

Carla Neggers strikes again with The Mist! This suspenseful tale raises the bar for this series of novels with a plot that revolves around a billionaire narcissist who has targeted those responsible for his arrest. Norman Estabrook is an adrenalin junkie who takes huge risks, none greater than kidnapping Abigail Browning ,a Boston homicide detective and daughter of the the Director of the FBI, John March. Estabrook intends to kill them and Simon Cahill, the FBI who engineered his arrest as well those closest to him. What Estabrook does not count on is the involvement Lizzie Rush and Lord Will Davenport, a British spy, who team up to try and rescue all those threatened. The fast-paced plot rushes toward a harrowing climax on the coast of Maine, careening through Ireland and Boston on the way. Ms. Neggers is adept at such plotting, but what makes this book a great read are the relationships, between the principals and within the families that are connected by the terrifying events. The genuine and deep emotions that bind the characters together are deftly presented without a single misstep. You care about them because you are involved in how they care for one another and that emotion is what drives this fine tale to its satisfying conclusion.
