About the Author: Major (retired) Paul "HAZE" Gannett served as an officer in the United States Air Force upon graduation from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Paul earned his wings from the Euro-
NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program and was selected to fly the F-15E "Strike Eagle." Later in his career, he transitioned to the F-35 as an instructor. In total, "HAZE" amassed over 1500 flight hours in fighter aircraft including more than 400 in combat.
