In addition to advice on the operative management of systematic trauma, there are chapters on triage, coping with major incidents and complicating factors such as tropical diseases, heat and cold injury and psychiatric problems. The text has been fully revised and replaces the Field Surgery Pocket Book published by HMSO in 1981.
