Asondaki, a 13-year-old Miami boy, and other Miamis including Little Turtle, share their ghost tales, war stories, and myths at a campfire in 1785. Indian folk-tales, customs and the history of this... This description may be from another edition of this product.
My 3rd grade son read this aloud within our homeschool history program and we enjoyed it immensely. I thought it very telling of native american life. Although I do not posess the credentials to judge thoroughly it seemed honest and devoted to passing on an authentic story of Miami indians. Needs a fluent reader, but the story could be understand by children ages 4 and up. Some scary moments might have to be handled with special attention, but very doable in that regard.
