Knowing his daughter had lived a life of luxury, he wisely proposed a satisfactory solution to his, and her, dilemma. Embedded in the story are allusions to several Biblical events. The simplicity of the story opens many considerations within families for discussion. It well could have been named The Thirteen Gold Coins, A Father's Love, The Mexican Wedding Cookie, or The Three-Legged Stool of Marriage. The story gives the reader several Biblical insights into the life of families. Each character and situation in the story presents perspectives for consideration of what God offers as a pattern for marriage and life. The audience is worldwide.
