Modern Short Stories with an Ancient Basis

Mike Ashley has assembled a series of ancient and modern Arthurian legends in a series of "Chronicles". This is the hird in the series and focuses on Merlin. As Ashley notes in his introduction, the classic literature has little with Merlin as the protagonist, so most of these stories are by contemporary writers. The book is a collection of short stories, and is a pretty easy read. For those of us that probably weren't as exposed as we should have been to the classics, Ashely offers a wading pool approach to Malory or Tennyson.
