The idea for this book was conceived on a beach in Puerto Rico during a challenging time of Faleen's life when all that could be done was to throw her arms up to the heavens and surrender to whatever was to unfold. As the story developed, it uncovered memories of a painfully shy childhood and the sadness that came with never feeling like she was enough in the world.
