Everyone wants to kill him and some actually do. Sir Ramsay is the Assassin, but he doesn't know that. He's in the right place, but he thinks he's lost. He has foes and he has friends, but he doesn't remember who is who. He's looking for something, but he can't remember what it is. All he knows is that his hair is long, his eyes are blue and the most beautiful woman he's ever seen is apparently in love with him. He was everything a girl might want: Quiet, good-looking, intelligent, intriguing, honorable to a fault though a little hard-headed. He is rich in an unassuming way and has several degrees from Oxford University. A Knighted member of an Ancient Order from a Scottish family of minor nobility. Of course, he has his faults: he's old, hot-tempered, grumpy, loves solitude, and drinks Scotch---a lot of it. Like I said, he is Scottish, but he's not a Highlander. His occupation as Assassin/Alchemist for his Order might be a relationship breaker: Assassin/Alchemist . He also suffers from night-terrors, has an apparent death-wish, and an emotional problem and a history that makes him a criminal of the worst sort. He is not exactly the ideal husband, fiance, close friend, or even casual acquaintance. He is Sir Mark Ramsay, Knight of Death , PhD, MD, poor Knight of Solomon's Temple. In his own opinion, he has lived too long. Things only get worse for the poor Knight as he tries desperately to extricate himself from the current nightmare situation resulting from a botched mission. If ever anyone pays off several lifetimes of Karmic debt in one week, Mark Ramsay is paying such a debt. His long-term memory is returning in bits and pieces and he slowly begins to understands what is happening to him and why, but finding a way out without losing his head goes from difficult to near impossible. If one of his Brothers of the Order does not take his head home in a box, then surely his kidnappers will bury him alive. Even confessing and throwing himself on the mercy of his Order's justice system could end up in ex-communication, exile, or execution. All the while, his emotions are in tatters, his loyalty is faltering, and his options are running out. Hard decisions must be made. Deadly situations must be overcome. Enemies must be defeated. And honor must be upheld. But no matter what he decides, he cannot have both love and life. The possible outcomes are all lose/lose propositions for this brave Knight. Fate has a hand in the destiny of our bad-boy, divinely-empowered super-hero, which will ultimately affect the entire world including the eventual outcome of Armageddon and the impending Apocalypse. Whatever happens, whatever he does, the Will of God will be done with or without his cooperation. Author's Note: This novel contains violence, adult language, adult situations, and sexual situations inappropriate for children. Furthermore, it is the first in a series of action-packed cliff-hangers. If you absolutely hate cliff-hangers, you will be missing out on a good story set in the present, the past and the future.
