When I look back I often feel like I was a passenger during those years. I suppose that at times I was leading, or even pushing us forward, that would be fair to say, but mostly I was enjoying the passion and discovery of being caught up in the moment. For nearly forty years I've wanted to write all this down. Even then my fourteen year old self felt that what we were doing, the music we were creating, was something that should be chronicled. To what purpose I couldn't say then and I can't say now, but there are times in your life when the momentum guides you if you let it, leading you to discoveries that will leave you marked and forever changed. It's those markings, those scars that stay with you forever.
