The McDonald Anomaly

Hammond Saunders is the lead astronomer at the McDonald observatory near the Big Bend in southern Texas. At an observing party at the observatory, a young man, using one of the observatory's small telescopes makes an incredible observation of something that shouldn't exist. The object observed becomes known as the McDonald Anomaly and it changes the world forever. Under the direction (and interference) of the government, Hammond and his team study the anomaly to determine what it is and what it could mean to the world.

This work of fiction is intended to explore how mankind in general, and a scientist in particular might respond when some of their long held beliefs are shattered.
