Math without Numbers

I have read this book to my students for years and they love it. It's a new way to do math without the numbers. It's the story of a boy that is a math wizard, but he hates PE. He makes everything into a math problem including this PE problem. There doesn't seem to be anyway to solve this math problem. Read this book to find out how to solve this PE problem.

Math Applications

A math wiz views the world in the form of math equations: baby + bottle = happy baby; baby - bottle = crying baby; what's a math wiz to do when Math Wiz + PE = misery? As a math teacher, I get excited about books that show creative problem solving techniques. It's a good read for anyone who doesn't fit in--it might even give the reader ideas for how to solve their own "fitting-in" challenges.
