The Mapmakers of Spitalfields

Written between realism and fantasy, ascerbic humor and delicate grace, these stories, set in both Bangladesh and the East End of London, explore the lives of exiles and settlers, traders and holy men, transvestite actors and the leather-jacketed, pool-playing youths who defended Brick Lane from skinhead incursion.

A truly interesting book

I am a deep admirer of Islam's books and I think he can reach a depth and an insight into the life of Bangladeshi immigrants in the Uk that is precious, uncommon and stirring. Read this book: it will capture you, change you and remain with you forever, like the character of Brothero Man.

BY HIS DAUGHTER!

My dad took along time to write this book , so i hoped it would be good!! Although I have not yet finished the book, I am enjoying it very much. I think this book (so far ) is very truthful about a lot of peoples lives nowadays. This book will make a lot of people see another point of life. READ IT NOW!!
