In 1930s New York, the Capucci and Carousel families fought for control of Manhattan's drug, alcohol, and prostitution trade. Evelina, the wife of boss Santo Capucci, assisted in the illegal accumulation of wealth that she took care of, and led a luxurious life immersed in the power of the local mafia. Until one day, in the dark room of a cinema, she sees a film that will change her life: "Gone with the Wind."
She decides to stop working for her husband in his dirty mafia business because she is tired of living among corpses, blood, and torture. Santo, who doesn't want to lose his wife, tries to win her back with the same medium that caused Evelina to ask for a divorce: cinema.
He improvises as an actor and, amidst shootouts and violence, manages to act in a film that will not restore things to how they once were, but will lead him to understand the power that cinema exerts on people.
