Malo's arrival in Vallistia does not go unnoticed. A seven-year-old prophecy outlines Malo's defeat of the realm's desperate high king. Those in power desire to keep up the status quo, while those without wish to shatter it.

Mina leads Malo through the realm of Vallistia, encountering mermaids, unicorns, werewolves, vampires, shapeshifters, and a family-rival sorcerer or two. Mina also begins to teach Malo how to unlock his elemental powers of fire.

The only way for the pair of them to return to the normal world again is through finding Malo's estranged father, who had been spending the last several years in this alternate realm accumulating political favor.

Malo's travels have rippling consequences throughout the realm. Thousands will die, but if he is successful, millions will live. One thing certain, everyone's lives have changed forever:

Tyselo, a sorcerer and unwilling underling of High King Rolland, loyal to only his family; including his granddaughter, Mina.

Irior, the shark-shapeshifter. His self-righteousness mixed with his incompatibility with the high king leads him down a rabbit hole that could start the largest-scale war in this realm's history.
