Personal, Candid, Sobering

I purchased this title after a reference to it in another book. I've read a lot of books, but haven't read another one like this one. Charles Blair, a well-known evangelist and former pastor of Calvary Temple in Denver, shares his life story with warmth and honesty. The reader is drawn into the excitement as God moves in his life through conversion, the call to ministry, and the meeting of his wife Betty. He describes how he relied upon God to provide for his needs and experienced God's powerful work in the rapid expansion of his once tiny congregation. He then relates the series of spiritual and financial decisions that led to the scandal and near-collapse of the organizations he was leading. This book should be required reading for any pastor or Christian leader who tends to be excessively driven and achievement-oriented. The author closes with three powerful questions: "Is the dream His vision? Is the method His way? Is the timing His moment?"

This will quickly become your favorite book!

This is one of the greatest books ever written! A must read for every leader no matter what age or occupation. Superbly written with real life stories that will make you laugh and cry and when you do put down the book it will cause you to think about your life and what it is that you are living for!
