The Magical Cat is Carla Marrero's first book, inspired by a story that she wrote in sixth grade. She never forgot it, and after graduating with a degree in Illustration from the Art Institute of Boston in 1998, Skylar and Ana were still on her mind. Her bright and energetic illustrations, completed in 2005-2006, finally helped bring her characters to life.
