The Magic Stone

By: Commes, Joshua Donovan

He went in search of a memory. He found a reason to fight the future.

For Tagrin, life is a bleak landscape of rocky fields and skinny sheep, haunted by the ghost of the girl he lost. Three winters ago, the King's Sorcerers took Tella, his half-elf friend, after a magical stone marked her for their service. Now, with nothing left to lose, he leaves his home on an impossible quest to find her.

The world beyond his cliffs is vast and treacherous, filled with wolves, orc patrols, and dangers he never imagined. His path collides with Elira, another half-elf on the run, who is as sharp and secretive as she is resilient. Though bound by a common goal, Tagrin's unwavering loyalty to a memory clashes with Elira's desperate need to escape her past.

Their journey leads them to the heart of the kingdom's power: the formidable City of Mages, Syveryn. Within its cold, stone walls, Tagrin discovers that the system that took Tella is more corrupt and far-reaching than he feared. To challenge it, he must confront painful truths about the past and decide where his loyalties truly lie-with the ghost of the girl he once knew, or with the living, breathing ally fighting at his side.

The Magic Stone is the first book in a captivating fantasy series about love, loss, and the courage to defy fate. Perfect for fans of character-driven adventures and richly built worlds, this novel asks a timeless question: how do you build a future when you're shackled to the past?
