The Magic Sleeve: The Dead Magician

This story is the first installment of a series of short stories about four nine years old friends accidentally stumbling upon a dead magician's magic sleeve. As they struggle with possessing and managing unlimited powers, they must also struggle to preserve their commitment towards their friendship, their loyalty, and their sense of compassion and belonging. Timmy is playing with his friends when he stumbles upon the sleeve. After they realize it possesses magic powers, his friends do not want any part of him or the sleeve. Faced with the challenging responsibility to safe-keep the ancient power from landing in evil hands, he must overcome the abandonment of his friends, stay vigilant with the temptations of his new older friends, and all the same while, he must avoid the crooks and the police who are both looking to get their hands on him and his magic sleeve. The crooks want the sleeve. The police want the crooks and the sleeve. Timmy and his friends just want to play, but first; they must outwit everyone and stay alive.
