When Dr. Nathan Nate Morris moves to Reed, Illinois from Atlanta, Georgia to open a medical practice with his best friend, Amy Vaughn, he's looking forward to putting the past--and his homophobic family--behind him. Considering Reed's reputation as a gay-friendly town, starting over should be a cinch. But when Nate is attacked outside his office late one night in an apparent gay bashing, he starts to wonder if maybe the good folks of Reed aren't as accepting as he thought. Sheriff Brandon Nash answers the call to a supposed gay bashing with feelings of skepticism. As an openly gay man holding an elected position, Brandon finds it hard to believe that Nate's attack is really a hate crime. Brandon may not know the reasons behind the attack, but as he looks into Nate's frightened eyes, there's one thing he's absolutely certain of: he'll do whatever it takes to keep Nate safe or die trying. Forging a relationship isn't easy under the best of circumstances, and as Nate's assailant steps up his efforts, Nate and Brandon's budding romance is put to the test. Add to that the sudden appearance of Seth, the brother who disowned Nate years ago, and Nate's nerves are stretched to the breaking point. When a series of arsons begins, and Brandon expresses the belief that the burnings are a ploy to flush him out, Nate decides to leave Reed behind, believing everyone else will be safe once he's gone. Brandon is all set to do whatever he can to make Nate stay, but when the brakes on Nate's car are tampered with, the decision is nearly taken out of both their hands. This book is definitely one that you can't put down until the very end because of the many twists and turns. Purchase this book to findout the mystery surrounding Nate's attack, and if Nate and Brandon's relationship can survive the stress and strain of their real life professions.

The Magic In Your Touch - Gay Lesbian News Book Of The Month August 2005 Selection
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 20 years ago
August 2005 Book of the Month - The Magic In Your Touch by Sara Bell Ladies and Gentlemen: I present to you a wonderful book by a heterosexual author (an ally don't worry) who touched the depths of my soul. Sara Bell, the author of The Magic In Your Touch, is a straight married mother of 2 wonderful girls who in her spare times spins tales of love and suspense. She is an author who truly gets what being gay is like and through understanding brings forth the most wonderful cast of characters. This month I am recommending her newest published masterpiece: The Magic In Your Touch. This poignant tale is about the love and life of Dr. Nate and Reed, Illinois. Dr. Nate moved to the small town in the hoes of putting his past behind him, and to open a medical practice. He also hopes to leave some skeletons in the closet, most importantly, his homophobic family. But alas, what would a story be without some tragedies. Dr. Nate starts to wonder if the wonderful town of Reed wasn't so wonderful after all as things begin to happen to him and those he loves. And what would a gay Cinderella story be without a knight in shining armor. Enter the Sheriff. Hunky Brandon Nash comes to the rescue and along the way comes to love the man he is sworn to protect. As things begin to happen more often, Brandon pledges to do anything to protect Nate. But alas, who is the culprit? Is it Nate, vying for attention from the people he is treating. Is it the Sheriff trying to make a name for himself? Or is it someone else? You will have to read this thrilling tale and step into the lives of two gay men as they struggle to find love, and live! You will not be disappointed by this story. Check it out and tell me what you think. I always welcome your opinions on the book of the month, and always take suggestions for the next choice. Give me your feedback and options either by clicking on contact me at my site, or by going to the forums and sharing your opinion with everyone there. Jase ;0) Jason P. Gay Fiction/Mystery at its best

The Magic In Your Touch (TMIYT) is one of the best mysteries I've read in a long time. Sara is a real pro and writes in a way that draws you into the story. You get to know and care for the characters. The story is a real page turner that you will not be able to put down until the end, and even then you will not want to put it down, but will be begging for the next book in the Reed series.
