The field of personal finance is one of the most neglected subjects in our curriculum today. Most 11 to 18-year-olds today will be able to tell you that "the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell" but few, if any, could tell you what inflation is or how to get a mortgage. It was only when I finished university and got my first job as a lab technician that I realised how unprepared I was to navigate the world of personal finance. I had picked up many bad habits with money over the years such as not budgeting enough, dipping into my savings whenever I saw something I wanted and generally not planning for the future. Fortunately for me, I was aware of these shortcomings very early on so I sought out information from various experts and sources in order to form a better understanding of money and how to develop better habits that would help me with my long-term goals. This short collection of rhymes represents two of my favourite things; helping people make informed decisions about key areas of their lives...and poetry. I hope that this book helps to demystify a few key areas of personal finance for others and show that with a few small steps, you too can have a happy and healthy relationship with money.
