God doesn't love us more if we pray longer or less if we don't. We who have trusted in Christ are God's children by grace through faith. There is no greater love than His sacrifice on the cross. Yet He desires for us to meet with Him, bringing our praises and petitions. One gets to know and connect with someone by spending time with that person. There is really no equal substitute. This is how it is with God. Our ongoing time with Him in prayer and in His Word brings an ever-deepening closeness with Him in our souls. We carry our cares and intercessions to Him because He cares and loves us. In His presence, with our open hearts, He whispers quietly, confirming His Word planted there.
