When the Great Ones walked this world, they bestowed blessings of the harvest, blessings of the sky, and blessings of nature. From nature came the Winged Hunters, who laid dominion over the earth and sky. They cared not about the petty conflicts of men. They only paid homage to the Great Ones and gave thanks for all they possessed in life.

Lakoda has lived in a small ancient town on the Massachusetts coastline his entire life. Nothing exciting ever happens; it's always the same thing year after year. People go to work, and every fall season, they treat Thanksgiving like an international holiday. It's the only thing that anyone there takes seriously.

This year, for Thanksgiving, Lakoda's father invited the entire family to one big gathering, a rare occasion that promised to be filled with joy and gratitude. But then, mysteriously, out of nowhere, strange things start happening around town, of the most sinister degree. Livestock vanishes, and people start disappearing, leaving a cloud of fear and uncertainty hanging over the town.
