When Los Angeles announces a two-week pandemic lockdown in March, 2020, the politically diverse Martin family has no idea that those two weeks will be the most transformative one hundred weeks of their lives. Taking place in Los Angeles, California from March, 2020 to March, 2022, The Longest Two Weeks Ever follows a progressive woman, a mixed-race, liberal gay couple, a politically agnostic mom, three teenagers, and two conservative old ladies as they ride out the pandemic together in LA. For the most part, they do the same things we did. They watch Tiger King, fight about the 2020 election, masks, and COVID vaccines. They laugh about Zoom holidays, the Oscars, day drinking, and their lack of shoes and pants. The kids change their pronouns and everyone develops anxiety. While the adults argue about politics and try to hang onto their jobs, the kids slowly deteriorate and their parents are too preoccupied to notice. As the Martins navigate LA's complicated and ever-changing mitigation strategies, they run into obstacles at every turn. Whether trying to see a doctor, attempting to get married, or going into a restaurant, every aspect of their lives is complicated by rules and regulations. When lockdown is over, like us, they are changed forever.
