The Long Road Home is a story that follows the path of Bruno, a young German man in the 1930s and 40s. The child of a German Jewish mother and a Gentile father, he, his sister, and mother flee Germany in 1938 and settle in the United States. He eventually enlists in the United States Marine Corps and sees service in the South Pacific before being recruited by the OSS and returning to Europe. His goal the entire time is to find his father and bring him home.
