The Long Ride

Mattie Ryan and Tandy Morgan are children of the infamous orphan trains transmission of children to the west. They meet when they are each thrown into the jail of sheriff Dub Tucker in the dirty little town of BlackRock Texas. The crooked sheriff is overpowered by the girls as he attempts to molest Mattie. Their escape sets off a running battle with the sheriff and the two girls. In their race to escape they meet up with the miner Luke Sawyer and the two Rohr children who are also on the run from outlaws who have killed their parents. The group meets the young ranch hand Jed Lankford at the river crossing which proves the death of one of the group. From there the lives of the remaining travelers is changed forever.
