The plot revolves around a utopian set-up with various chapters highlighting a few individuals in each village and their reasons for choosing to wake up or sleep during the June-sleep.

It is a blend of science fiction with a touch of realistic day to day lives of communities around the world. The story mirrors real-world events and developments as of the writer's time.
