My life book was started in the early 1990's and stopped writing around 1994. Then, because my life is being cut short due to pancreatic cancer, it was picked it up again in 2024. The work is incomplete as there were 52 chapter outlined (way too many for one book) only 14 chapters have been completed (which is way more acceptable for one book anyway). I have included the original chapter outline and have numbered the completed chapters as they fall on the outline. I don't know why, it's just the way I do things. "The Long and the Short of It" is taken from an expression my Grampa Koch always said when he would start telling a story. The first twelve chapters are "The Long of It" and the last two chapters are "The Short of It". The final chapter was completed in February of 2024 and hopefully fills in some important gaps from the last 30 years. This is a book of random life thoughts from my homelife, my first marriage, my missionary experiences and stories that shaped who I am today. This book is written it in the manner in which I speak so don't be too judgmental about my grammar and spelling and make sure you laugh when it's funny and tear up when it's sad. After reviewing the first manuscript my cousin, Mark, wrote: "I truly enjoyed your book. I cried... I laughed... I got very self-introspective... I was saddened... I was challenged... I am inspired. I related to all of it." Hopefully you will be able to say the same.
