The definitive guide for value-conscious travelers

I love this book. Patricia Fenn writes for a British audience who demands local flavor and great value. That is not to mean low cost, but value for dollar spent. We stayed at places we would never have discovered without this book. In addition to accommodations and restaurants, Fenn goes into some detail about attractions, but wisely leave the bulk of that to guides like Michelin. I would not hesitate to stay at any of her recommended properties.
