The Lives Our Mothers Leave Us

Excellent and fast read for someone trying to understand the dynamics of the mother/daughter relationship. I shared it with many of my friends who, all, could relate to, at least, one of the stories in the book. I would recommend it highly.

A Gift from my Daughter

What a lovely gift I just received from my daughter. Patty Davis's book was an insightful look at relationships that we have with our daughters and they with us. It'll be interesting to get together to talk about this book with her. What is her perspective on these stories?

Mother's Day

I read this book and was touched by all the daughters who gave quite candid interviews about their mothers and families. Ms. Davis did a wonderful job conveying the relationships at their best and not so best. I highly highly recommend it as a great Mother's Day present. Mine got hers early as I couldn't wait for her to read the book so we could talk about it.

Fascinating stories

As soon as I completed this heart warming and emotional book, I called my mother. It was just to touch base with her and remind myself how greatfull I was to still have her in my life at the age of 89. Patti Davis' book was so beautifully written. I had no idea what I was in for when I purchased it. Each story was unique and fascinating. Patti's ability to let her subject speak through her own words while commenting from a unbiased distance was a very refreshing read. I plan to give this book to all my girlfriends who share that unique Mother/Daughter bond. Thank you Patti.

A wonderful find

Miss Davis has a lovely way with words - as though she's slowly rippling her fingers through water. Her latest offering is no exception. Any woman who reads it can recognize a bit of herself and her own mother in each of the stories. I did; and found great delight in seeing the common thread of strength in all of us. I am going to give this small jewel to all the special women in my life for Mother's Day.
