Timeless children's stories

Enid Blyton is not your politically correct author in any sense of the word, she was born into a upper middle class background in the early 20th century that afforded her privileges that most children of the time were not privy too. She has been accused of being a racist, perhaps she was, perhaps she wasn't, who knows, she was after all a woman of her time writing books for children who longed for the world she created in the pages of such books like Malory Towers, The Famous Five, The Secret Seven to name but a few of her many literary offerings. However despite this she wrote wonderful children's books and this is one of them that is chock full of short stories that are funny, humorous, moralistic and on occasions even believable. These are great bedtime reads for young kids from four to eight, and easy reads for those kids who have mastered the art of reading on their own. They will love stories in this book such as The Boy who Didn't Believe, and The Tale of Kimmy Cat and of course the delightful story of The Little Toy Engine, a table of morality where two children vie to win the prize of a toy engine, only to find it goes missing during baking day. Delightful.
