A flower shop assistant develops a curious, bloodthirsty hybrid, for which he must keep finding new victims to keep the prized plant alive in this classic dark comedy. Directed by B-movie legend Roger Corman, it was initially conceived as the follow-up to his 1959 film "A Bucket of Blood". Though the film began as little more than a cult favorite, it was eventually developed into the smash hit Broadway musical. Mel Welles and Jonathan Haze star, but also watch for now-famous cameos from Dick Miller and a then-unknown Jack Nicholson!

Shot in 2 and a half days, with mostly improving the movie is more of a cult classic or a part of history.
Mostly adlib and a straightforward story. This is the basis of a musical play that became a movie in 1991 with the same name. I saw the play and of course the movie, but I always remember this film (maybe I remember how it wants to be remembered). I did not know about all the inside jokes until recently, reading about the trivia. At this time looks like we are in for a treat as Scarlett Johansson may become the next Audrey.
Mushnick: “Now that is what I call a salad. What do you call that salad?”
Audrey: “Cesarean”
Leonora Clyde: “You're such a do-do! What do you call this, chopped liver?”
Seymour Krelboin: “Master would like more fat.”
Neat pictures of old L.A. as I remember it.
I also learned hypnosis from this movie. Watch. You are getting sleepy. Close your eyes. Now open them and you will find this review helpful.
Well, at least I tried.
