This book tells the story of a playful puppy named Kotaro. One day after waking from his nap, he finds the house empty. First he chases a flower cat, then a bicycle, and soon finds himself racing cars on the highway. Later, Kotaro wanders onto a construction site and sees a crane lifting I-beams. Unable to resist, he jumps aboard. As the I-beam rises higher and higher, Kotaro finds himself in danger. Fortunately, his dad arrives just in time and guides him to safety. That day was Tarō's first birthday, and he was overjoyed to receive a new collar as a gift. This story teaches us that behaviors like Tarō's--playing on the road and climbing dangerous structures--are extremely hazardous, reminding us to always prioritize safety in daily life. It also shows us that family love provides protection in moments of danger, urging us to cherish the time we spend with our loved ones.
