Fantastic and very unusual book, suitable for all ages

This is a wonderful collection of stories and poems by well-known authors. There are also numerous recipes, as well as interesting facts about California people, places, products, and history. Each small page is a different pastel color and contains a background illustration over which the text is printed. None of the stories is longer than a few pages, making it something you can pick up when you have only a few moments to read. I liked this book so much, that after buying it for myself, I purchased several other copies to give as gifts for friends.
