"The Lithium Journals: A Collection of Thoughts on Reality"Author - Zachary D. Coley, born July 8th 1988 "The Lithium Journals: A Collection of Thoughts on Reality" is an autobiographical self-help book centered deeply in real world practicality, spirituality, and humor. It is written from the standpoint of a Crohn's patient, head injury victim, and recovering alcoholic from Northeast Georgia. To briefly describe my book I will first say that it is rooted in the foundation of an author who had pediatric Crohn's disease from the age of 7. My illness went into remission at age 26 thanks to many factors, and I suffered a traumatic brain injury 10 years ago in a Jeep Cherokee accident, which led to various stages of difficulty and encounters with a spiritual realm. This all defines me as a primary source for my writing which involves self-help based on experiential perseverance. I have been hospitalized in psychiatric wards over 25 times since my wreck, and have spent around 13 months total in three jails near where I was raised. All of this is apparent in the full manuscript, as personal experience is related and provided as basis for solution in my writing. It is an autobiographical self-help novel with around 80 entries on various ideas and solutions divided into 10 chapters. It has additions such as jailhouse poetry, a short story during the section on writing and journaling, and a gardening tips section in a heading entitled "Grow your own food, and keep a nice landscape". (The gardening tips are from a professional perspective, as I have an Associate's Degree in Turf and Golf Course Management). That is just scratching the surface. It began to take shape as a book through most of 2014 and part of 2015. I spent all of 2016 either locked up or in rehab. I have poured every ounce of my soul and life into this work. This is my first time writing or attempting to write a book, butI have not sped through the process, and have won awards for writing in the past. A notable early one of those was making it past District to the State level for the Young Georgia Author's award in 4th grade, having competed with every 4th grader in Georgia at that time.I hope you will give my work a bit of your time!My target audience would firstly include people who suffer PTSD such as addicts, head injury victims such as veterans, and those wanting an entertaining easy to read self-help book. It would also be a great resource for Occupational Therapists. As well, it includes a brief yet candid memoir that would raise awareness for irritable bowel diseases. I can safely say that this book would attract several types of readers. My chapters cover my autobiography, spiritual wisdoms including a biblical essay, solutions for overcoming addiction, recipes, and money and politics. I hope you give this piece of literature I've created a good read, and I hope it helps many!
