Book Overview

"Mayer has crafted a military thriller in the tradition of John Grisham's The Firm." Kirkus

"So convincing, that by the last page, readers may doubt the official version of the last 50 years." Publishers Weekly

They killed Patton when he opposed them. They've cowered Presidents into going to war. For more than half a century, a secret organization of Army officers known as The Line has been covertly manipulating US Policy.

Now, in a political climate rife with dissent and unrest, The Line has ordered a pivotal top-secret operation that will let the world know who is really in charge: take out the President on Pearl Harbor Day. But The Line didn't count on Boomer Watson, a member of the Army's elite Delta Force and Major Benita Trace, both West Point graduates, staying true to their oath of allegiance and willing to fight The Line with their lives.

From The Ukraine to Pearl Harbor to West Point to the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia, it's a race against time to stop The Line as December 7th looms.

Written by a West Point graduate, former Green Beret and NY Times Bestselling author, this book crackles with authenticity and action.

GREAT READ-- A thriller that delivers

This is one of the best thrillers I've read-- I especially like the historical aspect of the story. I also recommend that if you like this book, get this author's books under his own name: Bob Mayer. His special forces series is very good, especially CUT OUT and DRAGON SIM-13

REWRITES HISTORY

This book presents an alternate view of almost the entire past century with many of the events influence by a cabal of West Pointers bent on their own agenda. It wasn't that black or white though because both sides had what appeared to be noble goals. Lots of stuff happening while the history is played out. Was Patton really killed? Lots more questions covered.

SEVEN DAYS IN MAY? GREAT READ

I was reminded a lot of SEVEN DAYS IN MAY when reading this, except this had a lot more action. The West Point and Special Operations material was very realistic as the author is both a graduate of the Military Academy and a former Green Beret. Sure to make the old grads roll over. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Explosive!

David Morrell meets W.E.B. Griffin in this frightening tale of loyalty and honor. The concept of a covert arm of military officers who rebel against the governemnt is extrmely plausible. One need only to refer to history, and the military's rebellions against the government to realize that this novel is borne of possibilities

Captures Your Attention From The First Page

At first I was skeptical of reading a relatively new author. But after the first page, I was convinced that Bob McGuire was in the same category as Tom Clancy, WEB Griffin, and Harold Coyle. Mr McGuire has you on the edge of your seat from the very beginning. All through the book, you have to keep asking yourself, "We've heard of the WPPA, what if this is also true??"
